Querks- Rick st Dennis Digi Image - Design Team July Project...

Hi all,
Today is my first DT project for Rick st Dennis and I am chuffed.
I have chosen for this month a family of digi images called Querks - Euro Style.
Available HERE

I just loved this family and thought I know what I am going to do with them and that was to create some ATC's..

Firstly though I printed them on Copic paper and heat set it. (I find this helps when colouring).

All Faces and body bits are coloured in with the same colour copics..
G00, G21, YG11, YG03, BG10, R46,R20 G94
All Teeth - E35, E43
All Hair - V15, V17, E57

I used a huge colour assortment of Copics on all their clothes and other bits and bobs..

I embossed white cardstock with the three 3D texture fades embossing folders.

I then sprayed all pieces with the colours sprays, drying between each colour.

Using the Inka Gold (love this stuff), I then rubbed over the sprayed cardstock.
At this stage I thought pretty but lacking something so off I goes to search for that 'something' only to find black Distress Ink and Black acrylic paint, (not a drop to be seen of black wax, Black Inka Gold or anything like that).

Firstly I inked over the embossed paper and heat set it. I then shined the cardstock with tissues but didn't really like that so I did a water colour wash with the black acrylic paint, wiping it off straight away. I let it dry and thought I would come back to it tomorrow as I still wasn't happy with it..

I decided to leave as is and when I cut the Atc's I would ink around the edges..

I mixed together black acrylic paint and Lindy's Stamp Gang - Glory of The Seas Gold.

Using gauze to roll around and soak up all the gorgeous shiny blackness..
Let it dry..

All the components together to create the ATC's..

ATC base is 3 1/2 inches x 2 1/2 inches.
Black mat is 3 3/8 inches x 2 3/8 inches.
Textured cardstock 3 1/8 inches x 2 1/8 inches.
Don't they look glorious!!!

I cut strips and the stamps from Typography - Graphic 45 paper for all the ATC's.
I raided my stash container and found bits and bobs of metal embellishments..
I used 3D foam tape to adhere the family, embellishment and stamp onto the front of the
ATC. Behind each stamp I placed some gauze to give some interest..
