A Gift for Secret Santa - AVSC 2019

Hi all, 

Well as this year closes I am now winding back on all my Christmas crafting,

  I wanted to show you what I created for my secret santa with AVSC.

There were four rules.. 

1. A handmade Card

2. A handmade gift

3.Something small brought.

4. Something yummy

I decided on choccies for my yummy, I mean who goes wrong with them right !!

I made a card to send.

I brought some bling, stickers and a set of cards that you had to put together (which I forgot to photograph of course).

And I made a recipe book.. (disclaimer: I had made this kind of book before as a design project with AVSC) but I changed a few things around with this one and I think it is nicer.. 

I hope my recipient likes it.. 

 The Recipe Book

The cover is a shaker card with a canvas stamped spine.

I placed a pocket on the inside cover and a pocket on the first page that pulls out with recipes on them..

A fold down pocket with recipe cards inside and underneath as well as a pull out tab on the other page and all recipes on it..

A simple recipe card on the left and a flip through on the right with all recipes.

Velcro does hold the ribbon down to help close it.

A flip up on the left with recipes inside the pocket and another fold down pocket on the right.

Again pull out recipes from both pages..

I adore this book and the style and will be making more..

The choccies and the card I made but forgot to take a photo of all the other stuff, talk about forgetful.

Anyway I sure hope she likes it all..

Christmas Toilet Roll Book - CRDU

Hi all,

My final swap for the year with Craft Room Down Under and it's a beauty.. A five page toilet roll book to do with Christmas.. I had so much fun with all of this and I hope my
swap partner Sharon enjoys it..

I combined old school Christmas images and recipes and I love the paper I used for
this little book  - Kaisercraft  -Yule Collection.

Now I'm not sure how you make yours but mine is simple as lol..
I roll my toiler rolls (empty hehe) through my Cuttlebug and then sit them under something heavy for a couple of days..  I then paint the edges of all toilet rolls, in this case white, then measure the paper for each side and make a template for the holes that the rings go in.. (see simple)

note: I like to make each page a different paper so I don't wrap my paper around the toilet roll; but saying that you can certainly do so if you like..

I inked around my pages before adhering them on to the rolls..

I made these using the 1/4 inch and the 1/2 inch punch. It reinforces the holes so they don't tear.. 

Punch the 1/4 inch first.

Line up the 1/2 inch over the 1/4 inch hole and punch Voila !!  To make it easy just turn the punch up side down to see where to punch..

I wanted covers for my little book so I cut 2 pieces of scrap cardboard a bit bigger than the pages, 

 I then cut  pieces of paper 1/2 inch bigger than that. I cut my corners as shown. 

Hint: Use a stylus to go around the edges of the cardboard so the paper folds easier..

I cut a piece of paper to cover the insides.

I used the template to match up the holes and placed eyelets in the holes to hold the rings..

I fussy cut a holly with berries from the paper and inked around the edges with distress ink.. I had a scrap of paper left over so I used that to give the cover some contrast colour. Using 3D foam tape I adhered the holly, the heart and the sign on the front as shown.  Lots of ribbon and the book is finished..

Through out the book I used glitter and dimensional magic to give sparkle and shine..

I placed recipes on the front of the tags and added a tab to pull them out..

On the back of the tags I placed old style Christmas images and thought they look brilliant..

The book is quite chunky so I added a belly-band to keep it closed..

The First page..

A brad holds three little pictures of the season..

The second and third pages...

I fussy cut this holly and berries like it is because it was on the edge of the paper and I thought I can add something behind that lol.. The words are from Tim Holtz Sticker Clippings - Christmas..

A grass diecut holds a flower infused handmade paper with a recipe printed on it.. By the way I don't use cocoa powder now since the kids prefer milo lol..

The fourth and fifth page: 

I used twine to hold recipes in a concertina style. 

A corner and a little deco and its all done..

The sixth and seventh page..

I love this tea pot and cup border and thought it looked perfect in a recipe book..

This one is interesting as it is merry christmas folded in a mixed concertina style and pops up when the ribbon is opened..

The eighth and ninth page..

I adore the picture so I added some glitter for the snow and some golden corners.

I added a pocked and snowflake to hold a little saying..

The tenth page and back cover..

I wanted this page to be simple but effective.. and I love that christmas tree die..

The back cover which I would like to say Merry Christmas everyone and may there be peace on earth in the future..

Gift Bag for Christmas - Stars in The Bright Sky - AVSC

MERRY CHRISTMAS

My last project for the year with Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft and I have enjoyed 2019 immensely with all the total gorgeous things I have received.. Thank you Aunty Vera.. 

I do sincerely wish everyone a great Christmas..  

I loved the sticker sheet and wanted to use one of the larger ones so I chose a white bag to fit in with the papers and the sticker..

I love this die from Paper Roses - 'Party Under the Trees'..

I cut two pieces of the wonderful papers in the kit. I roughed the edges and sprinkled white paint to give a snow like effect.

I die cut two pieces from the Circle Wreath from Kaisercraft.

I used a scrap piece of cardboard under the red cardstock to give it some height and tucked the green leaves underneath.

I placed the tree die in the middle of the bag and placed the sticker on with 3 D tape. 

I love this little sticker tree and had to use it..

More stickers again using 3D foam tape made all the difference..

I decided to use the Clipping stickers from Tim Holtz to give this some interest. The washie tape from AVSC looked brilliant on the bottom..

I coloured the lights in with markers and placed dimensional magic on them to give some shine..

More stickers tucked in the sides places interest on the bag..

A gold bling is all that is needed to spice this little star up.

I painted the bag different colours to try and match in with the papers as it was 'too' white ..

I also placed 'snow' around the papers and stickers to give a more of a frosty look.

The finished bag which looks so pretty in real life.. Can you see my Christmas ornaments 

I made as well..

Love this bag..

All the projects for December.. I really love Christmas and I hope it shows..
